Below is an example of how I use this tool. I will include a step by step to get to this point.
1. Locate the opposing pitcher in the "Pitcher Name" box, and select.
2. Select the team for the offense you'd like to research.
3. Select "Pitcher Hand". This should only show you the option that correlates to the handedness of the pitcher you selected, however you still need to check the box.
4. Select "Batter Hand". This will show both the pitchers tendencies vs the specified side of the plate, but also only show the results for hitters of that handedness.
5. Select the "Pitch Mix". I like to look at the % column in the Pitcher's Box, and then select anything that is used over 8% of the time. You can go higher or lower. You can pick one pitch at a time and see how a batter does against that pitch specifically. Have fun with it. Edit: I have started using 15% pitch usage threshold. You should still have fun with it.
6. When you're done looking at one side of the plate, click the other "Batter Hand" option. Make sure your selected Pitch Mix still matches the pitchers box (you may have to unselect an option(s) if a pitcher throws something to righties that he does not throw to lefties, or the usage of the pitch mix changes).
7. During the season, I have the tool pulling the last 45 days of data for pitchers, and the last 15 for batters. You can change this in each sides correlating Date Range Box (pitchers up top, hitters at bottom). Find what feels right for you.
8. Finally, when you're done researching that specific game, click Mr. Barrel in the middle of the tool, and it will reset the tool to the fresh default it was before you started making your mess.
